St Andrews Day Dinner

Every November, the Caledonian Club brings Islanders together to celebrate St Andrew’s Day — Scotland’s national day and the Club’s flagship event. It is an evening of music, food, dancing, stories and good company, bringing together members, friends and anyone with an interest in Scottish culture.

While the traditions are rooted in Scotland, the celebration is distinctly Island. It is an opportunity to experience Scottish music and dance, raise a glass with friends, meet new people and celebrate the generations of Scottish influence that have helped shape PEI. Whether you grew up with Scottish traditions or are simply curious to experience them for the first time, there is a place for you at the table.

St Andrew’s Day is also about looking forward. As the Club works to make Scottish culture relevant to a new generation, the event offers a chance to bring old traditions into a contemporary setting — welcoming new faces, new ideas and new ways of celebrating.

What to Expect

  • Scottish Music — Performances celebrating Scotland’s musical traditions.

  • Dance — Highland dancing and other performances.

  • Food & Drink — An evening built around good food and good company.

  • Community — Members, families, friends and newcomers all welcome.

  • A Night to Remember — Our biggest celebration of the year.

Robbie Burns Luncheon

Each January, the Caledonian Club celebrates Robbie Burns Day by honouring Scotland’s national poet and his enduring contribution to Scottish culture. Members and friends come together to celebrate Burns’ poetry, music and wit, with traditional readings, Scottish music and, of course, a proper Toast to the Haggis. It’s a chance to enjoy one of Scotland’s best-loved traditions while bringing Islanders together for an evening of culture, friendship and good humour.

Highland Games

The Caledonian Club supports Highland Games across Prince Edward Island, helping keep one of Scotland’s great sporting and cultural traditions alive on the Island. We encourage Islanders to get involved through clinics, demonstrations and opportunities to learn the skills behind Highland events — whether competing, volunteering or simply coming out to cheer others on.

Cultural Events

From the National Kilt Skate and Tartan Day to ceilidhs, concerts, festivals and community gatherings, we look for opportunities to celebrate Scottish culture in ways that are welcoming, accessible and fun. Whether you’re dancing at a ceilidh, pulling on a kilt for the Kilt Skate or simply joining friends for a celebration, there are plenty of ways to get involved.

Cultural events are part of what makes Prince Edward Island feel like home. They bring people together, connect generations and give us opportunities to share the music, stories, traditions and experiences that make our communities unique.
